I'm not going to blame the tories as it was an issue under Blair, and probably much longer. All previous governments have tried to avoid the logical solution as it is too expensive and would take too long. If action had been taken 20 years ago we wouldn't be where we are today.

I agree but I hold Conservatives "responsible" as they had a long time in which to sort it out yet spent that time just making it worse. I see their failure to act as good reason to blame them.

I think this is being reported a little harshly, because I understand that the person in question is doing quite a lot of outreach work to try to counter radicalisation. However, letting him stand as a candidate is still a terrible judgement call.

Amusingly he was admirer of Jeremy Corbyn.

I'm not surprised that Ian Dunt isn't impressed. This is the thing about Badenoch – I'm pretty sure she is just stringing together unrelated justifications for her own positions and things she think will play well in 180 characters on X or a 60-clip on Youtube Shorts, and is completely unbothered whether there's any logic or cogency in her statements. If they were being assessed by an academic superviser, she'd be torn to shreds.

This is true. He has publicly expressed his apologies for his former antisemitism.

That said, he's still a staunch supporter of the Tories and Reform, and has strong right wing fascist views so...

Tories pledged to add 20,000 prison places. The net gain over their 14 years was less than 500. Labour have apparently added over 3,000 already although I can't find anything to confirm if that is net or gross.
