Brian posts things that mostly pass the blush test, and are intended to spark discussion, some of which turn out to be not true. That's more a sign of the tines than anything else. It is getting harder to tell.

It takes literally a minute to check if the thing about Trump being present when a girl was murdered was true, or if the Farage quote on masturbation was AI slop. There's enough to go at with the current crop of politicians without repeating made up stuff.

OK, fair comment (I would rather not post AI slop or incorrect statements) but if those are the worst two out of 12k posts here (and it's unfortunate one can't edit/delete beyond 60 minutes), I'm not going to lose too much sleep, while still wanting to do better, of course. Though noting that I don't have the responsibility of the BBC, given that the audience here is about 50, and not all of whom take everything entirely seriously all the time.

Anyway, to carry on with the the thread title...

As someone else observed, surely Badenoch must have meant that they could raise spending (or at least maintain it) if they cut taxes, as shouldn't cutting taxes mean more Government revenue, if Laffer is right?

What you meant to say was ‘lessons will be learned’ surely?

When she first came to prominence I thought Kemi Badenoch sounded frightfully intelligent.

Fruitfully I reckon she has now fallen victim to her own stereotype.

There's a favourite expression in my family courtesy of Jasper Carrott ... ''we all make mistakes'', said the Dalek climbing off the dustbin.
