Could still be happy, and if not, I'd guess there will still be takers.

Probably, but I was under the impression that the DVLA bans plates on the grounds that they can be offensive/misleading.

Maybe wee Stevie Smith born in '88 is perfectly innocent and doesn't have Skrewdriver permanently blaring, but I reckon SS 88 falls under the "misleading" category.

And before some freeze peach advocate says anything, I don't give much of a f*ck about their plates. The lass I talk to on my Metro journey regularly with a Sonnenrad, Totenkopf and Reichsadler inked genuinely bothers me, mostly because she's 18, but the irreversible stuff and children is for another thread.

If you asked random people on the street 'What numbers are a code for 'Hitler'?', how many people would know? Is the most rational explanation that somebody has gone to the trouble of putting SS 88 on a Tesla in order to identify themselves as a secret fascist, rather than 37 year old Steven Smith flashing the cash with a posh car and very expensive personal reg?

There are lots of 1DF and PAL type plates available too. Maybe they're all secretly advertising their political allegiance. Maybe we should start photographing those people's cars for the forum. 67PAL is available for £28k and must be a comment on the 6 day war right?
This forum is bonkers sometimes.

At least the secret meanings of number plates is something new.

Who's who, Trump, leftie-bollocks and JKR's latest meltdowns were getting boring.

Yeah, the whole point is that it's an identifier to a small group of people

Well if it was an SS88 tattoo with no other context you might have a point. People paying large amounts of money for a personal reg of their initials and year of birth isn't exactly uncommon though and seems the more logical explanation.
