I first watched that video in Boris and the kettle, even thinking possibly it might be deep fake.
It was not, he and his party are really a bit thick. And there is quite an analogy there in that, the extremely stupid kettle advice means the likes of Johnson simply might well have had limited clue on the damage they were doing with Brexit

Diverging from that, the 50p per kw/h, and said to be approaching £1 per kw/h charge for electricity had already enforced a change of habit.
Pragmatically, for a single mug of piping hot water, I fill an empty kettle using the mug itself. I turn it on for exactly 30 seconds (2.8kw kettle) and only pour when all the noise has abated. You can also do this without a timer using the noise level as the gauge.

This compares with 60 seconds before that automatic off switch works and 48 seconds when a fairly vigorous boil starts. This halves this particular cost, and will be even more major if you currently do the more standard 'fill up and boil'. Note that this is a flat base element kettle.

Worth saying.
Quite a crass and lazy analogy though. The renaming at Windscale was to hide the fact that nuclear waste is both a major long term expense and a time bomb.

That probably nullifies any miracle water type con connection. Nuclear itself has a levellised cost pretty much exactly the same as off shore wind, it also being 150% more expensive than onshore wind and 100% more expensive than an onshore wind/hydrogen combination.

It is also worse now in the US so for modern conservatives that winning matters so whichever way you read it, conservatives are the party of the cons.

Fairly comprehensive set of data here, though the tumble dryer type seems not to be listed.

Boiling lots of water takes more energy and costs more money than boiling a little water. You don't say. So the 5x headline is a load of disingenuous bollocks.

A bit of a pathetic article. Nothing about using the oven to cook your veg at the same time as the roast. We had a chicken meal last night and the roast potatoes, carrots and broccoli were all done in the oven at the same time as the chicken.

And did he really advise watching shorter films to save money???

I'm cooking a roast as we speak and the oven is being used on minimum heat to keep things warm before serving, not for cooking at all.

So there.

Is this the woke thermodynamics complained about by the Mail last week?
