There are a few sources of renewable methane, principally via anaerobic decomposition.
Can also be made from atmospheric CO2 and hydrogen.
As with other synthetic routes to hydrocarbon fuels, the problem will be scalability. This said, where it is possible to collect methane and burn it, (e.g. from landfill, food and agricultural waste), it is environmentally better than releasing it into the atmosphere.

There will soon be plenty to get stuck into once Burnham starts setting out a few more policies. The VAT cut on electricity just looks like an early sweetener for the electorate.

Isn't it interesting. The Telegraphs story is that the OBR says Burnham shouldn't raise taxes. The factual report in the Grauniad reveals that to be (surprise!) complete horseshit. They said nothing about not raising tax.
Your third article there is about the IMF and not the OBR.
Reuters seems to corroborate the Graun.

You'd not believe it, but over on Cake Stop, there was a forum member who said he'd turn up his heating to celebrate Truss's tax cut sweetener for the electorate, all on borrowed money. The Tory press said it was a great move on Truss's part, despite the OBR not getting a chance to look at the costings at all. Cost the economy £30bn.
Obviously Burnham should have gone much bigger to get the approval of Tories.

Not exactly the biggest surprise. Labour took the Scottish vote for granted for years, and since losing power have become increasingly bitter, caring more about trying to discredit the SNP than actually doing anything for the country.
