That would still be achievable if we didn't have this weird thing that our kids have a god-given right to our wealth after we have gone. Where did that come from?

Historic survival of the family. Entrenched by feudalism and aristocracy.
Even now, the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberryowns 280,000 acres of land, Anders Holch Polvson, 218,364 acres, the Duke of Atholl as 145,000 acres and the Duke of Westminster has 140,000

That's part of the problem, imo, the accumulation of vast wealth over generations through compound interest and earnings, rather than talent, hard work and entrepreneurship.

The other is a philosophical one. I believe I owed my children a safe, loving home and a decent education, then it's over to them to find their way in life.

I know a couple of people whose game plan is to wait for Ma and Pa to die.

Who said my father left me nothing but a sense of fair play, a work ethic and £100 million?

Speaking of objectively nasty, here's Chris Mason. And here's a couple of words beginning with the letter o, obnoxious and odious.
BBC News - Chris Mason: Why Andy Burnham's about-turn on Manchester City matters
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5kg0gwwpyx8o

He seems desperate to make a big story out of this.

The relationship between Palantir and Labour is becoming more and more concerning. First Mandelson's lobbying company, then Tom Watson joining Palantir as a lobbyist, and now it emerges that a lobbyist from a company that works for Palantir joined Burnham's campaign in Makerfield.

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/oct/02/lobbyist-palantir-martha-dalton-andy-burnham

They've done what all the big companies wanting to affect government policy do, which is to flood the political 'sector' with the offer of 'free' help to politicians of all colours - it's been management consultants, lobbying and betting companies, the 'big four' auditing/accounting companies. It's no surprise that Palantir have followed suit, not least given the political dimension of its owner (which you'd have thought might have given pause for thought for accepting the 'free' help).

That said, it would be very positive if they can still find the resolve to end the Palantir contract for the NHS, which seems to be quite possible.

Overlooking the case for and against the State Pension Triple Lock, one major issue I see if that Burnham has been explicitly stating theat the Manifesto this Labour Government were elected on will stand and he will be honouring it.

The 2024 Labour Party Manifesto explicitly includes "Labour will retain the triple lock for the state pension." (https://labour.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Labour-Party-manifesto-2024.pdf page 79). If they pass a law ending it that is contracy to the menaifesto (the date it ends somewhat irrelevant but putting in place ending it is completely contrary to the undertakings of the party manifesto which Burnham said he will honour.

Trust in Burnham sticking to his word? Trust in Party manifestos?

The manifesto commitment was for the life of the government elected on it. That mandate ends in 2029.

If they say our next manifesto will no longer commit to retention and legislate to remove the triple lock from April 2030 then no breach.

Except Burnham is not talking about the next manifesto but rather this Government (under the 2024 manifesto they were elected on) passing a law to end the triple lock:

Burnham to pass law scrapping pension triple lock before next election

Guarantee will remain until 2030 but MPs will vote on changes during this parliament, government says

ndy Burnham will pass legislation to scrap the state pension triple lock in this parliament, even though the guarantee will remain until 2030, the government has said.
