Well my grandma went on a month long cruise to Africa. She was considered quite adventurous.

People took a boat. Most people also knew far less about foreign cultures.

Your grandma probably learned more about Africa on that trip than all the MAMILS in the UK put together know about the Balearics. You could probably add in all the stag-weekenders [/hens] that flew in 2025.

Probably. This was in the 1960s I think.

I think it was 1999 that I flew to Sri Lanka to meet a friend doing VSO and an old Sri Lankan university friend. I got a cheap seat on a Monarch plane. The other passengers seemed to be on a package holiday. Someone mentioned a previous holiday to Jamaica, where the most exciting thing was when some locals broke into the compound. They didn't think they'd be taking advantage of any of the coach trips this time.
VSO friend and I made a journey round the island by train and local buses, staying at small hotels and guesthouses, eating local food and meeting folk of all kinds, from a retired government minister to a hotel prostitute (I politely declined the offer to 'share a room'). The war was still going and there were soldiers about, especially in the north, where they had curfews.
And it was great to meet my fellow student again after nearly 30 years.

QT really does give airtime to any Reform shagging dimwit...

They value controversy over reasoned debate. They ought to put Chris Morris from The Day Today on in place of Fiona Bruce, and it would at least be entertaining. It was pointed out that, given it's not live, they should have fact-checked the bloke who claimed that he hadn't said that Rishi Sunak was a brown Hindu. Kisin then used the clip of his denial on his own channel and got 100's of 1000's of views, as having been 'on the BBC'.

I may be wrong, but...

China's population is approximately 15 times that of the UK.

China's land area is approximately 3000+times that of the UK.

I would hazard a guess they drink more milk than us, more water, etc for just about anything you care to mention.

Comparing our emissions output to that of China, the USA, Russia, etc is ridiculous.

Also CO2 isn't pollution.
