That's not the word I'd use. They have chargers, yes. However so does the nice pub, the farm café, the hotel, the shopping centre, the park etc...

If I'm running out of petrol then you're running out of charge. (Any sensible person will fill up/charge before departure).

Yes, but you have to fill up with petrol at a service station. I can fill up with electricity anywhere that has electricity and wants more customers.
One example - I could have charged my car at a petrol station in Exeter or on the M5 but instead I can charge it here:
On another occasion I could have charged on the M6 or at Birmingham, but chose to go here:

Have you visited Oswestry? I once parked up there and charged and had a lovely dinner in a nice pub rather than stopping at a petrol station on the A5.

You do know that you don't have to refuel at service stations? For example there is a petrol station less than 1/2 mile from Strawberry Fields. Refuel and pop in for a meal. Life isn't complicated if you don't want it to be.

The point I was making is that I don't have to go to Motorway Service Stations any more. I can go to nice places. My hands don't smell of diesel. And the fuel is cheaper.

EVs have many good attributes (including cheap fuel) but ICE car drivers don't have to stop at motorway service stations for fuel either (I avoid them) and can go to nice places too. I do, and I don't have diesel. Your point is moot.

Why would I want to do that?
I fill up once in 2 or 3 weeks at my convenience when I’m passing a garage.

It's one of those things where people look at just the flight time and forget about the travel time to the airport, getting there an hour or two early to get through security etc.. We did a choir tour to Germany a few months back and the instinct was that the coach would take too long so we flew but the reality was that by time we travelled to Heathrow, got there in plenty of time for check-in etc. which left us hanging around for ages, getting through passport control / baggage reclaim at the other end, getting to the coach and travelling to our destination there actully wasn't much in it. Not sure how the costs compared, the main downside is that on the coach you're stuck in your seat for longer whereas at least the airport offered a bit of a break and chance to strech our legs.
