Hummus isn't a foodstuff I'd associate with the proletarian struggle, Comrade.

Ignoramus

Garbanzos are a highly respected and longstanding food stuff of the peasant classes

I believe it is a very common dish in some places and widely available
so the concept that Hummus is a dish of 'the people' is quite valid

Of course these areas are not in the UK

Adam can bulk out his thin poached rabbit and cabbage broth with all the pulses, sure.
But lashings of extra-virgin olive oil, tahini and lemon juice?

Well not 'all' the pulses in truth , not if he's going to be a 'proper' h'english peasant

I'm afraid garbanzos, lentils, soy beans are all out, if he wants to be 'properly' native..
They don't fare well in our climes.
(I've tried growing them all🙄)

He's going to have to stick with pease, or field bean paste, with golden rapeseed oil..

Or butter.🤔

Garlic still allowed of course, and maybe a dash of cider vinegar for extra piquancy?? 😇
