Yes, can I vote for a very good local Labour MP? Very difficult if I consider what the current government is/isn't doing.

Which to me highlights a major failing in what out legislative system has become. Your local constituency MP should be being elected to represent the constituency NOT some leader most of the country didn't get to vote for. Centralisation of power to the party leaders has meant rather than represent their constituents they are just lobby fodder for the leaders doing what the leaders want rather than what their constituents want, what is best for their constituents.

Quite. The way things are moving, or, have moved, Constituency MPs are pointless, could just have cardboard cutouts, which could be bundled up and carried through the voting lobby. Save all that pathetic shouting in the HoC, we could downsize the HoC to a Portacabin, (net zero win), save the cost of refurbishing the HoC, and, save 600+ MPs salaries, plus associated staff.
