Daughter no 4 is a supporter worker / carer. Yesterday, she was visiting us, I remarked to her “good news, for you, Andy Burnham says carers should get paid more”, her response “who is Andy Burnham?”.
Watch any TV quiz show, contests knowledge of Politics, is abysmal.

Before this goes on any more, with folk saying that Polanski can't be PM because his teeth aren't the best, please can we remember what is important?
Below is a case of a woman arrested on charges of terrorism, for guess what? She was clapping!. I'm no longer working, but her defence must be the easiest in the history of legal advocacy. She only has to say she was applauding the bravery of the protesters against the state.
This is happening right now under a Labour government rising in popularity.
So please examine the question neutrally; which party is the more reliable and dependable in defending human rights?

Can you give more context? What were they doing other than clapping? E.g. was that bloke lying down because he'd glued his bum to the pavement in support of Palestine Action or somesuch?

Sure, I'll provide as much context as I'm familiar with.
The Magistrates Court was dealing en masse with those previously arrested under terrorism charges for purportedly supporting a proscribed group.
During the interval between the arrests of those people and this en masse hearing, David Lammy had been advocating the end of jury trials, effectively what this case is.
For that reason an unproscribed group arrived called ''Save Our Juries''. I hope you'll forgive me for teaching you to suck eggs, but for other readers perhaps less familiar, it does not follow in legal logic that those protesters supporting Save Our Juries are necessarily supporters of the protesters (PA supporters) being dealt with by the court on that day. In fact, given that some carried no placards and had not spoken, the assumption is necessarily false.
As far as UK democracy is concerned, this means that the state is prohibiting the right to challenge the state's abuse of its powers and citizens. The UDHR includes fundamental rights to communicate truth to power by way of freedom of expression, right to peaceful assembly, right to protest, and right to a fair trial (in which place a protester should be guaranteed to be free to speak their truth).

If I could be bothered I'd go and look; up the cost of dentistry in the US. I suspect Medicaid doesn't cover teeth.

Yeah, right. Very Green. Let's object to solar farms... the things that can also increase bio-diversity and improve certain crop yields, quite apart from reducing reliance on carbon. Nimbyism in action, I suspect.

The daft thing is that there's probably never been a better time to be banging the green drum, not just for saving the planet, but because it's economically and politically beneficial too.
