This is the trouble with the current version of right wing populism: they want to break systems, and that can be achieved – maybe in subtly different ways – whether or not the proponents are skilful or just incompetent loons, as both Brexit and Trump have proved. It's why I am pretty confident Farage would stop the NHS functioning with 12 months if he were PM, as it runs on a knife edge even when it's being run 'well' by people who want it to work well, such is the complexity. Everyone and every system in it is a vital component of a complex organisation, and all Farage would have to do would be the equivalent of putting diesel into a petrol car's fuel tank.

The problem with populism is an absence of things to replace what they break. it is why they ought to come unstuck after a relatively short period in power. Mind you the only example of this that springs to mind is Bolsanaro. Trump1 to an extent but the Democrats dropped the ball there by putting forward a candidate from the 1920 ballot rather than the 2020 one, by mistake.

And he either doesn't care about the destruction trail he's leaving or he just hasn't noticed. But US citizens are/will be suffering the impacts so it's not even "America First".

Actually, I think the US is developing a 'masculinity problem', but not in the way the right wingers think. It's that they aren't comfortable in just average human bodies in all their various shapes. It's no wonder they are perpetually angry about the world, if they can't even come to term with themselves as they are.
