So it’s not secret, but they will keep it secret.

And the reaction of those sending the messages is to try and discredit the reporter and the publication he is part of. Can’t they see the individual invited to watch their exchanges is irrelevant, editor of a prestigious national newspaper or a recycling operative from the "east sode" side - it's what they were saying and those exchanges being seen by somebody not involved that is the issue. Maybe they are trying to distract (somewhat pathetic) or maybe they can't see the lapses they made (worrying), neither reflect well on capabilities.

Imagine if had been a mischievous reporter. They should be grateful, but that is beyond them.
