Trump going all in on trying to help Putin win. If this doesn't spur Europe into action and to treat the US regime as actively hostile, nothing will. Mind you, I don't think the US is actually supplying much to Ukraine, but it suggests that Trump will do anything to help his best buddy Putin.

Aren't European countries buying stuff from US military suppliers to pass on to Ukraine?

Donnie has clearly been reminder in no uncertain terms in the last 48 hours which side he should be supporting.

If they are, it won't be long before Trump says he won't sell to European buyers. He's running out of effective options to skew the war in Russia's favour.

Europe has had four years to ramp up their production of weapons so they are not so dependent on the unreliable Trump. I suspect the US arms industry and a lot of Republican politicians would not agree with Trump on a weapons sale ban to a major customer base.

Donnie V2.0 was voted in less than 2 years ago.
However, I do take your point and will add that it is just his usual bluff as he wants the money to keep rolling in.

The US was definitely a comfort blanket.
Was.

It'll have interesting consequences on the US economy if their war-based industries (manufacturing and troops) have to refocus on shooting and bombing only their own citizens, though ICE have made quite a decent fist of it so far.

It looks as if politicians on both sides in the US are working to stop Trump buying diesel from Russia as it runs counter to specific existing legislation passed in 2022.

Not sure about Newsom – I get the feeling he could spin on a dime if the price was right. I'd not buy a used car from him.

Not sure about Newsom either. Whilst Newsom made a deal where Insulin in California has a set maximum, he's still signed up to corporations and didn't Veto other shenanigans from big pharma.
Ossof for me is the right guy for Presidential ambitions - talks straight, says it as it is and he absolutely shredded Mike Collins in a public debate.

But as I pointed out before, Russia could only satisfy 1.2% of USA demand and that's if they do not export the diesel elsewhere. In other words, Russia would have to stop supplying their other customers.
Same bs as the whole Potash idea. A) it's logistically very difficult and B) doesn't do anything which would materially change fuel prices at the pump (and that's Trumps only concern because fuel prices is bad publicity and he cannot accept that bombing Iran is the cause). He's desperate to pin blame on anything bar his own actions to prop up his hopes in the mid terms.
Is this a good thing - if he didn't care about the current unpopularity it's because... he is planning to call martial law/question the results etc?
He did cite big things are going to happen and he also cited Russel Vought rather alarmingly.

Trump added that Vought would be “one of the very important people in the history of our country” and noted that there are “great things happening.”

It doesn't matter if there ever was any actual diesel available. This is all a PR exercise. It means that Trump can blame Ukraine for the high energy costs, thus deflecting blame from his participation in Netanyahu's adventure against Iran and helping whitewash Putin's image. You see, nice Mr Putin would had helped lower diesel prices if only that beastly Mr Zelenskyy didn't keep bombing Russian refineries. You may see through it, lots won't.
