I hope Democrats actually have a plan from Day 1 to dismantle as much of the Trumpist state as they can, rather than the old guard bitch about the progressives and think that the theatre of congressional hearings will stop the Fascist Tendency in its tracks. I must admit I won't be surprised if they screw it up.

X must be fun this morning, not least as Musk spent $500mn on *just* the race in Texas, and he's now got a Democrat AG and Senator in the state where he's chosen to locate his business. 'Schadenfreude' is a lovely word.

It also will not go down well woth the electorate to do this. They tried last time and I think we're punished a bit for the fixation on pursuing Trump. I appreciate the irony given how Trump goes after people, but bear in mind that this is the electorate that voted the guy in twice, so it doesn't need to make sense.

Quite so. It's exaggerated by the weird US presidential system of the party not having an actual elected leader outside of the Presidential election cycle who can at least try to enforce some kind of coherent approach and articulate policy.
