There was a really intersting slide shown in a JP Morgan presentation yesterday about the birth and death rates in the US. Deaths will overtake births in the next 10 years, meaning that without immigration the population of the US will shrink, which has quite profound implications for their economy.

We are already seeing restrictions on women controlling their own bodies; I expect to see a drive towards "replenishing the earth" with (white?) families having six or more children.

They’ll need lots of people to drill for oil, help put fires out, rebuilt cities that get flattened by hurricanes, and save people from floods.

Will Trump’s tech guys not solve the problem, with AI doing all the work? 😂

Ah, that's what this AI thing is that Starmer keeps wittering about.

Allegedly tariffs will be vary per country.

According to early reports Canada, Mexico, India and Israel have agreed to have zero tariff trade.

That will be fantastic if it's true, good for everyone

Differential rates it is. The UK escaped with the minimum 10% for general imports into the US, along with a handful of others such as Brazil. Clearly we'd rather not have any, but our substantial services exports will not be affected (over 2/3rds of our exports to the US are services).

Also, given that the EU has been slapped with 20% tariffs, this is starting to look like a Brexit bonus.
