Looks like the efforts by Das Auto Fuhrer to buy the Wisconsin Supreme Court have failed.

The democrats still need to come up with an inspiring alternative. As we're seeing here, "the other guys are shýte, vote for us" only takes you so far.

In total both sides spent $100million on this one vote for a judge in one state.
The spending is totally out of control in US. And frankly the legal system should be completely free of political interference.

I don't see the legal profession business complaining about the complete shïtshow that is the US legal system. It's all business.

Japan has a WTO agreement on the import of rice which means most of it is within the boundary of the tariff free agreement. The 700% tariff Trump's presser is claiming goes back to a calculation from 25 years ago. The current estimate is about 400%, but that only applies to approx 0.03% of the rice the US exports to Japan.

Even a basic bit of research is enough to highlight everything the Trump administration claims is BS.

The types of percentages being bandied around suggest that they are all Trump's fantasy figures, and no-one dares inject an ounce of sanity into the process. It probably doesn't matter too much to them, as the whole aim is to destabilise and wreck, so details are secondary to uncertainty and chaos.

normally they are negotiated and discussed and arrangments made

not for trump
has to be a sudden announcement
but people can ring him and discuss it - but only for one day - everyone - the same day

Only reason for this is confusion
and headline - always the headlines
Keeps the world talking about him. Big characteristic of Narcissism (or rather Malignant Narcissism).

Got to wait until around 21:30 our time to find out what it all means though.
Gonna be a long day if you are watching media.
He needs to wait until the "US Markets" have closed. It's likely that they'll take a hit and it would look a lot worse on him is he makes an announcement and immediate start of big decline.

Yes, all of this is essentially to keep himself in the media constantly. I used to say on the old BR forum thst Trump would be clinically diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder by a psychiatrist.

I have come across the odd narcissist in my time, but never one that would bring down an entire country just to sate their ego.

Malignant Narcissism (rather than narcissism) sometimes called solipsism. Significant differences.

There was a really intersting slide shown in a JP Morgan presentation yesterday about the birth and death rates in the US. Deaths will overtake births in the next 10 years, meaning that without immigration the population of the US will shrink, which has quite profound implications for their economy.

It's the same in most developed countries. I've been saying for some time that this anti immigration rhetoric from right wing populists will create big problems for their respective countries in a few years, when the developed economies are in competition with each other for immigrants.
