I'm no lawyer nor legal expert but I suspect Trump being so prepared to ignore the courts might be being empowered by the Supreme Court ruling that former presidents are entitled to absolute immunity from prosecution for official acts taken while in office, but have no immunity for unofficial acts. What happens when they just ignore the rulings though? They’ve exposed a flaw in the legal system in that they just ignore legal rulings and the checks & balances do nothing not least as those who should be enforcing them are either complicit or too cowed to do their job. It feels like the attempted coup in 2021 was pretty successful as it has made US politicians scared to protect the country’s democracy.
Given that Supreme Court seems increasingly worried about the US Courts becoming irrelevant that can rule that it is the President's responsibility to uphold the rulings of the courts and that failure to do so is not an" official act" and can be prosecuted and punished and that punishment will mean prison time and is not covered by any Presidential Pardons.
Such a ruling would tell Trump he'd be spending the rest of his life after this term tied up in courts without Supreme Court backing with likely prison sentences. I suspect that would change his attitude to the courts
