I've been to Alcatraz, twice. I think the national parks service struggles to keep the place in a state of arrested decay despite mugs like me paying $50 a head to walk around a relatively modern concrete building.
I loved the Alcatraz trip. $50 now? That's a lot. Totally unfeasible to reopen. The reason they shut it was cost. There's no fresh water supply and everything had to be brought in by boat. Converting the Alamo to a super max penitentiary is more feasible tbh, and just as likely to happen...

He watched the film on Saturday night and came up with this notion. Simples. Too much of a coincidence not to be.

If anyone had watched the videos I posted, Trump calls the WSJ a terrible newspaper and worse. I suggested that a war on the Murdoch press was not such a good idea. Unlike Donald, they have teeth. It's like the bad wolf going after the even badder wolf but all's fair in love and war. Bring it on. Show some Cajones Murdoch and the Murdoch clan.

"US President Donald Trump says he will hit movies made in foreign countries with 100% tariffs, as he ramps up trade disputes with nations around the world.
Trump trying to "save" the US film industryis predictably having the opposite effect
US media stocks slide after Trump threatens movie tariffs
Netflix, Amazon, Warner Bros Discovery and Paramount shares fall as studios reel from announcement
Fairly nobvious it would happen and just highlights how Trump just doesn't even try to understand anything.

How to simultaneously compliment Trump and insult him at the same time. Diplomatic and truthful all at once. 😂

"President Trump said it was an "honour" to host the Canadian prime minister following his election victory. Carney returned the compliment Trump, calling him a "transformational president"."

He's going to put a tariff on imported tourists next, to try to promote domestic tourism.

One of my Grandsons (age 16) recently went on a school trip to USA (New York). He has formed a suitably critical view of USA/Trump having experienced their passport control / entry procedures.

Speaking as an oldie, since when did school trips entail flying across the Atlantic? Other Grandson’s school trip is to Africa (Kenya I think). We used to get a two hour bus trip to High Force (Teesdale) 😂

Don’t get me started.
My son’s school do a ski trip.
In my day that was a coach journey to the Alps and a coach back.
Their school ski trip is flying to the Rockies. Absolutely bonkers. This is a state school in south London. Not Eton.

I remember skiing trips. Ours were couchettes on trains with a ferry crossing, in the days before ferries had stabilizing technology and the ships smelt mostly of vomit.

My daughters have been to South America and Asia with school trips.

Depends on the school obviously

We had a proposed 6th form trip to Japan. For 5 days. Strong feedback was provided by parents and they are now doing something much more sensible.

All ski trips have been to the Alps albeit via plane rather than coach. Other trips have been to Spain and to Bruges. There is an upcoming Stem trip next year to the USA to visit NASA. So far however, trips have been reasonably sensible. Generally school trips are within the UK or Europe - and this is a private school. Happily the school recognise that they have a good percentage of parents who are not super rich.
