If only I could say that I am surprised.

"Ghislaine Maxwell court materials to stay secret, judge rules"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1jnn2r7r47o
Now if only the BBC had covered that the judge referred to the dictator's administration admitting in public * to holding considerably more information than was in the grand jury evidence and that this was basically a diversion tactic.

ā€œA member of the public, appreciating that the Maxwell grand jury materials do not contribute anything to public knowledge, might conclude that the government’s motion for their unsealing was aimed not at ā€˜transparency’ but at diversion – aimed not at full disclosure but at the illusion of such.ā€

ā€œContrary to the government’s depiction, the Maxwell grand jury testimony is not a matter of significant historical or public interest,ā€ he added. ā€œFar from it. It consists of garden-variety summary testimony by two law enforcement agents.ā€

Edited to add
*
As part of our commitment to transparency, the Department of Justice and the Federal
Bureau of Investigation have conducted an exhaustive review of investigative holdings relating to
Jeffrey Epstein. To ensure that the review was thorough, the FBI conducted digital searches of its
databases, hard drives, and network drives as well as physical searches of squad areas, locked
cabinets, desks, closets, and other areas where responsive material may have been stored. These
searches uncovered a significant amount of material, including more than 300 gigabytes of data
and physical evidence.

The illusion is all the mango Mussolini has. What is baffling is banging on about releasing something then not releasing it and being surprised that people are not satisfied. In the words of somebody, it was too early to tell, now it is too late to cry over. It is a mad, mad, mad, mad world.

I get that from his point of view, but a major media source softly playing down the disparity between the grand jury evidence and the trial evidence and what was a diversion tactic, I don't undestand.

Simple. The UK is the US's labradoodle and the BBC is playing it's part. Maybe.
I can't think of a time when the BBC has done any more than the bare minimum of criticism of Trump. I could be wrong.
