Every time I read about Trump expecting a Nobel Peace Prize I question what universe I'm in. Even were Trump to manage a Ukrainian ceasefire (big big if, but assume), that he is in effect part of a war in Gaza, ensuring that the war continues by pouring in vast arms supplies whilst providing political cover and failing to even discourage Israel - should on it's own be enough to disqualify him from any consideration for life. He could end the Israeli attacks in Gaza and West Bank this afternoon with one phone call. Yet despite his enabling such ongoing horrendous killing and starvation of civilians he regards himself as a "peacemaker" ... and some believe him, some even call him "Daddy", bending to his every whim and running around picking up stuff he drops.

His main driver is that Obama got one for doing very little.
I think his was unwarranted but that's irrelevant now.

Did anyone make any predictions about the Trump-Putin summit?
Trump has a look of nervousness to me. Going into negotiations knowing his opposite number has kompromat that could weaken his base. Putin holds all the cards. Zelenskyy could be Trump’s wildcard. Trump will negotiate an amazing deal, obv!, and Zelenskyy won’t accept it. Blame Zelenskyy for not wanting peace. No change in the short term to the conflict.
Hope my prediction is completely wrong as so many lives depend on the outcome. But I just can’t see past Trump as a busted flush in the negotiation.

Prediction? Putin will string him along like a puppet on a string. Nothing meaningful, just kicking the can down the road. He'll say nice things though so Trump will be happy.
