I sometimes wonder if the EU/UK is making itself powerless in world affairs through subservience to Trump. Ludicrous mad congratulatory messages, calling him "Daddy", leaders demeaning themselves and their country, rushing to pick up what Trump drops, rushing to give honours for nothing (like state visits) and then getting kicked in the nuts on trade ... We lap-up his twaddle, gladly accept damaging policies (celebrating they are not as bad as they might have been).

EU/UK is a significant player economically and historically. People say how dependent we are on the US (true) but similarly US is to an extent dependent on UK.

I sometimes wonder if EU/UK leaders have given away their influence to Trump by making it known "only Trump can ..." by striving to influence. We're taking an economic hit anyway through Trump's behaviour so why can't we stand up for ourselves, decide for ourselves (ie don't seek Trump's advance permission to recognise a Palestinian State).

Are we making Trump more powerful than he actually is by our subservience?

Newson has been relentlessly trolling Trump.
He should employ Stevo.

I don't think I'd be very good at stopping Democrat trolling even if I did want to help The Donald 😉

Also I'm not cheap to hire.

This is not a new situation but it is getting ramped up by Trump. The short answer to your final question, yes. Just look at today's bluster.
If he doesn't get what he wants from Putin he will raise tariffs on India. There must be another explanation other than TACO. Maybe not.

Aren’t the powerful only powerful because those they have power over are subservient? You can’t have chiefs without Indians.

Friends of mine were holidaying in the States a couple of weeks ago. They were glad to get out before the current mayhem. Washington was quiet, calm and relaxing. New York was brash and hectic.
