I well remember seeing this for the first time, and being in awe of the engineering that designed wings to go to 150% of their maximum conceivable stress in extreme conditions: much more than that would suggest that there was excess weight, but less than that, and, erm, probably more in the realm of Bognor Birdmen... which might be where Boeing was heading.

And if you should ever need a medical treatment ... (makes me think of "There's a Guy Works Down The Chip Shop"). And with RFK responsible for medical stuff ... I now despair to the extent that it's what the US voted for in full knowledge of Trump/RFK so who am I to argue against their wishes.

The same guy, John Icart, has done similar for Trump's hotels and golf clubs apparently. I would imagine there was a deal in there somewhere. I doubt the WH paid list price.

I'm not sure that it makes me feel that much more hopeful given that a successor would be just as tied to Project 2025 aims, but somewhat more articulate (it's a low bar).

Don't underestimate Trump's significance as a figurehead. I think he's sufficiently necessary that they'd need to replace him with an animatronic, or at very least embalm him and prop him up with a stick*
*Realistically, these things may already have happened.
