I think history will view him as Not-A-Doctor Death. The death toll as a result of putting a whack-job conspiracy-theorist anti-vaxx nutter in charge of the health of 360 million people is going to be huuuuge. It's terrifying.

Terrifying at so many levels. That Trump would be so daft as to even consider such an appointment; that the US electorate voted for this (in pre-election campaigning Trump did explicitly say what RFKs appointment would be); that a non-medic/non-scientist can completely ignore and go against the advice of scientists when the health of such large numbers are going to be impacted; that unqualified individuals with personal conspiracy theory agendas can be given such powers; etc.

Our (western culture) system of governance is now showing its shortcomings.

He's certainly making himself visible, and the attacks seem to be needling the right people, though he's such a polished performer, with slicked-back hair, shiny teeth, and stats galore at his fingertips, he could be a very successful car salesman. I'd prefer Buttigieg, or Ossoff (who both come across as more human), but maybe the Democrats need a very good car salesman next.

I'm not sure that Republican swing voters are ready to accept Buttigieg, as wrong as that may be.

The Democrats who voted for Trump, or who didn't vote at all, might. I don't know enough about his politics to know if non Trump Republicans might be persuaded but I think he's less divisive than some figures. Depends how Vance acquits himself too I guess.

The White House wall decorations are wood and gold leaf, made by some artisan guy in Florida from what I recall reading. Shein, Temu, and other cheap outlets look to be producing cheap knock offs in plastic. Why wouldn't they? They do it for everything else from designer clothes and handbags to designer furniture.
