There is little doubt that both Biden and Trump are suffering from age-related cognitive decline, but this is not necessarily related to dementia.
To anyone who has actually had to live through friends and relatives suffer and sometimes die from/with actual dementia this politically motivated amateur psychology is tasteless.

There's a minimum age before being allowed to run for POTUS, 35yo.
There should be a maximum age, I would say 65, before being allowed to run for first term. After 2 terms, that candidate will be 73.

Meanwhile, on Fox news he went on to say that the shutdown was an opportunity to get rid of the all the left wing bureaucrats in government - 'hand out the pink slips' (our equivalent of a p45).
Now, Virginia is going to the elections next month and there are 3 posts including Governor up for grabs and Virginia employs more federal government workers than any other state. Currently, all 3 posts are held by Republicans.

I doubt anyone over 70 would be able to cope with being POTUS.
My dad is 78, had a very responsible job as a younger man but he’d be awful now. Age catches up with everyone.
Just look at Blair and Obama. Both quite young men when the started but aged rapidly through their role.
