Fairbanks Alaska: Republican ousted by Democrat in shock defeat.
Alaska Democrats flip seat for the first time in 10 years.

I don't think that there have been many (or any) Republican victories in various positions across the US - this points to a massive Democratic swing on the mid terms. I have little doubt that the Republican back room boys will know this and will act upon it.
There are more elections, local and otherwise looming and this will provide more pointers as to the general mood of the electorate.
Have a scroll through the MAGA regret video's on YT. They are innumerable and all run on a common theme that Trump lied to them.

Reporter: "Why didn't Trump win the Nobel peace prize?"
Nobel Chair: "The award only goes to people with courage and integrity".

As a follow up and one that seems to be conveniently missed: nominations for this years Nobel peace prize closed in January, so even if Trump had been nominated, he wouldn't be considered this year.

You're attributing a monumental voting shift to a extremely low voter turnout result. Only 15% of the population turn up to vote.

Its a reminder to the Republicans to get out and vote.

Meanwhile the ICE barbie at a presser was talking about how they were going to root out the individuals behind antifa:

As Secretary of Homeland Security in October 2025, Kristi Noem has spoken out against "antifa," calling the decentralized anti-fascist movement a dangerous and sophisticated domestic terrorist organization. Her rhetoric came during a White House roundtable hosted by former President Trump, where she compared antifa to designated foreign terrorist groups.

Former President Trump? Did I miss something in the ‘Good News Only’ thread?

There's a growing list of MAGAtrons who are souring on Trump, especially over Epstein, the shutdown, and now Qatar. Marjorie Taylor Green and Rand Paul are two of the more prominent ones, and believe it or not, they might have more of a sway over the US electorate than NCAP. If the prominent MAGA podcasters join in with the criticism at the same time as the economy stutters and as Trump gets even more incoherent, I suspect that they'll try to install Vance one way or another.

I was shocked to read the other day that almost 1 in 5 children in the UK don't have ADHD or autism.

Which means they are just horrible little sh1ts with no excuses.

Treatment was so much easier back then

The only bit which has some grasp on reality is NCAP has no influence over US politics

The list of nominees is quite fun.

Elon Musk was nominated by Branko Grims, a Slovenian politician who wants to send people back where they came from. He is nominated for "for his consistent commitment to the fundamental human right to freedom of expression, and thus to peace". That would be the freedom of expression that requires his constant censoring of his own AI Bot.

And then of course there is Donald Jessica Trump nominated by:-
  • Anat Alon-Beck, a high flying American Jewish Professor of Law with close ties to Israel "for his extraordinary leadership, strategic brilliance, and unparalleled commitment to advancing peace and securing the release of hostages in one of the most complex geopolitical arenas of our time."
  • Asim Munir, a Pakistani military officer that Trump had a bromance with "for his attempts to de-escalate the 2025 India-Pakistan conflict, seeking a resolution through dialogue and backchannel diplomacy, while emphasizing the principles of restraint, regional stability, and the prevention of armed escalation—despite India's stated refusal of third-party mediation and its insistence on bilateral engagement" and not for threatening Pakistan with huge tariffs.
  • Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli dictator and genocideal warmonger "in recognition of his pursuit of peace and security in the Middle East and Trump’s role in brokering the Abraham Accords and the ceasefire and hostage releases in Gaza"
  • Buddy Carter, a republican arse-licker for "his historic role in brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Iran and preventing the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, Iran, from obtaining a nuclear warhead"
  • Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia for "for his crucial role in restoring peace and stability at the border between Thailand and Cambodia" and not at all for "reducing tariffs on Cambodia from 49% to 19%"
  • Javier Milei, massively right wing President of Argentina for "for recognition of his extraordinary contribution to international peace" and not for giving Argentina $20bn to bail out their economy.
Maybe I've missed something but didn't see any smileys (indicating a joke) but
The Nobel Committee does not confirm the names of nominees, neither to the media nor to the candidates themselves. There are cases where names of candidates appear in the media, either as a result of sheer speculation or because individuals themselves report to have nominated specific candidates.

The list of nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize is released 50 years after the prize is awarded, in accordance with the statutes of the Nobel Foundation.
