Its not really the same question. DOGE in itself is becoming a cult as Elon just can't help but raise his profile instead of acting statesman, like many before have managed to do for centuries. No, instead, he wields a chainsaw on stage with shades on. All theatre... Hence Elon himself has split opinion in that same poll... But, I think most people would back more efficiency if it meant the money could be spent improving lives where it matters.

Also, in that same poll: "40% of voters say Trump’s policies will make them financially better off, while 36% believe Trump’s policies will make them worse off. 46% of voters say Trump’s policies will increase inflation."

People won't care about DOGE, Elon or even Trump if what they believe comes to be. Because if they are worse off, what is the point?

Trump is doing great in Ukraine

He has jumped in with both feet and got everyone's attention

WHich is quite possibly what needed to be done

However - he is forging forward and "creating" a ceasefire and peace

FAST

OK - stopping the war and people dying is a good thing

no doubt

BUT

it seems like he is forcing this

and forced peace deals are often known as one thing to future historians

The foundation of the next war

Sounds like everyone is being forced to follow in trump's wake and try to make something out of the wreckage

and we will end up with something no-one if happy with
except trump - sorry the USA - leader of the Free World and all that

and Russia will heave a sigh of relief and pull back
and re-arm
and learn lessons
and fester the hurt

and The Ukraine will do the same

and

well - historians will look back in 100 years - assuming historians exist and everyone is not either dead or scrabbling in the dust after scraps that is all that remains of civilisation - will be comparing all this to the reasons that WW2 started

and trump will start as being the person who sorted the Peace in Ukraine
and will end up as the person who created the environment that started WW3

When the guarantees of peace come from Trump and Putin then it is understandable that Ukraine don't feel at all comfortable with the promise of long term peace based on their guarantee and pillaging of resources from one actual dictator and his orange apprentice.

They already have agreements with Russia, US and UK. Budapest Memorandum. How well did that work out?

Indeed. About as well as the next one will i suppose. Lets face it, Ukraine is finished either way. A vast chunk of their future economy is or will be owned by the US and Russia. At best, it will maintain an Agrarian society with help from the UCAB Association with a scope to joining the EU, which for Ukraine i would wager all bets rely on.

DOGE very popular
Do you actually read? You appear to have no ability to apply any critical thinking.

Allow me to paraphrase:

Premise: Cows produce a lot of greenhouse gasses. There has been a huge increase in the number of cows due to better faming methods.

A poll of residents suggests that people would like the number of cows to be reduced.

Elon Musk issues chainsaws to doge and starts massacring cows in the thousands, no one has any steaks or burgers and the farmers go bankrupt.

You cannot draw the conclusion that DOGE is very popular.

The poll cited in your shootpost draws the conclusion that voteers think that the current level of federal debt is unsustainable but they don't want to pay more taxes to fix it. That's all. If you offered to tax the shoot out of Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos et al, that would also be enormously popular.

Here is an *actual* poll about DOGE instead of the crap you insist on posting here:
https://fortune.com/2025/02/21/doge-elon-musk-popularity-epa-cfpb-usaid-irs-poll-survey/

It shows that the departments DOGE is axing are more popular than the axing, although there is a finding that just 6% are more in favour of DOGE than against. They certainly don't like Elon Musk any more.

Another poll (Feb 13th to 18th) :-
When asked whether respondents approved or disapproved of the job that Musk is doing within the federal government, a net 34 percent approve compared to 49 that disapprove.

The poll, carried out on February 13 – 18, found that 52 percent disapprove of Musk shutting down federal programs that he deems unnecessary, compared to 26 who approve. When asked whether respondents approved or disapproved of the job that Musk is doing within the federal government, a net 34 percent approve compared to 49 that disapprove. Concern was high when respondents were asked specifically about the access Musk’s team had been given to some federal government databases containing information on Social Security, Medicare and taxes. The poll found that 63 percent are concerned by this compared to 34 percent who said they are not.

Breaking, Apple confirms it will continue to invest billions of $ in the USA given that in 2021 it announced investment in the USA of $430 billion over the next 5 years. CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the level of investment will continue, adjusted for inflation.

This isn't actually *new* spending, just the continuation of the previous plans adjusted for inflation. Previously Apple promised to invest $350 billion in 2018 spread across 5 years.

It's almost as if, whenever a new President is elected, they promise to invest a huge amount of money in the USA. Even the number of jobs is relatively small for the amount of investment. Here is some real analysis of the "pledge" (note that there is no way of confirming whether any of the previous pledges have actually been met).

In summary, this is a PR move from Apple and not the "win" for Trump that you think it is.

Why do you bother? Laugh and nod.
