Actually I don't think there's a statistical difference outside of the criminal behaviour related 737 Max software issue.
Most of the rest of the bad press is QC related things that have been picked up during assembly.
Then there was the door plug, which wasn't a crash so much as an idiot somewhere who just did the wrong thing. The issue there are the checks to check the checks have been done away with to save money.
Ms Leavit is growing on me. Classy chick:
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Democrats and the media had made it seem like "we deported a candidate for father of the year", claiming once again he was an MS-13 gang member.
...and involved in human trafficking.
I'd love someone to sue the hell out of her for those made-up allegations.
She'll claim to have immunity because she was lying as part of her official duties and the SC will back her up.
Haha. Extorted money can't buy you taste, but it can buy you tacky plastic tat from China.

Harvard donates 96% of all donations to the Democratic party.
So a republican government is not going to subsidise an opposition party through funding
True, and they are paying the price for the 737 Max debacle. It really was an extraordinary piece of corporate manslaughter in the end. That reads like "no difference if you ignore the dangerous ones".

Or maybe her job is just to repeat what she is told by Trump and other officials. No aspect to truth and lies in her role as she's just a mouthpiece repeating the official line. Not for her to make any judgement about truth or accuracy? She'll claim to have immunity because she was lying as part of her official duties and the SC will back her up.

There is no doubt they have lost their way, but some of the noise in the press is about being more under the microscope than Airbus. It would be fair to say that if there are QC issues that are resulting in production delays while they are fixed, that's a good thing. My suspicion is that's happening all the time in Airbus, but no one cares.

Just a thought.
That said, were I in that position I'd make my own judgement as to the stories I was being passed and at some point I'd find being part of the farce morally unacceptable.

Exclusive: Some aren’t even fraud but rather known attempts by states to protect victims of identity theft, former top official says
“For the most part, he and his gaggle of 20-year-olds are going to these federal agencies of staff who have been there for five, 10, 15, 20 years working on these programs,” added Pancotti. “For the most part, these programs work as intended.
“And now you have people coming in, spending five minutes looking at them and claiming that there’s widespread fraud, or they’re broken or they could be fixed in these ways.”

A 2023 Department of Labor memo found that while one state appeared to be paying benefits to scores of claimants 100 years or older, the state clarified that this was not, in fact, happening. “Rather, this was the result of how the state ensured victims of fraud were not unfairly prevented from accessing benefits,” the memo said.

More than 2,000 convictions were secured following work by the office from April 2020 to January 2025, resulting in recovered funds of $1.1bn.
Reminded me of a scene in Curzio Malaparte's Kaputt. He is visiting a German governor in Poland, possibly in Cracow, it's been a long time since I read it. During the evening, after dinner, Malaparte looks around the room and notices some kitschy additions to the decor, rather vulgar and disrespectful to the original. The host's wife notices him looking and proudly explains how she put those changes in.Haha. Extorted money can't buy you taste, but it can buy you tacky plastic tat from China.
