I dunno what the most tragic thing about that video is to be honest. It reminded me of Renton's rant in Trainspotting, only without the humour and irony.

It looks like TACO Donny is going to bow to pressure from some of his electorate and stop at least some of the ICE raids.

Now if only the people who are using the orange rapist as a ventroloquist's dummy, or the red state governors who are backing his policy, could look at very recent history when $140m worth of crops rotted.

Last year my colleague, Sondre Ulvund Solstad, and I worked on an essay about what happens when loyalists come to hate the opposing party as depraved and evil. Politicians know that this “negative partisanship” is a powerful tool for mobilising their supporters. But portraying opponents as traitors degrades the quality of government—and risks tearing a country apart.

I was reminded of all this by our cover this week in the Americas, which looks into how President Donald Trump has federalised the National Guard and deployed the marines in Los Angeles. His purpose was not really to restore order: the local cops could handle the protesters on their own. It was to stir up MAGA loyalists in their belief that big cities are places where enemies lurk and invaders wave foreign flags. And it was to provoke liberals, look tough and dominate the news.

Our leader warns that what serves Mr Trump is bad for the country he governs. It is easy to see how—in LA or the other American cities where protests are planned this weekend—a confrontation could descend into widespread disorder or lethal violence.

When you say 'bow to pressure' do you mean announce how they have been the biggliest successful raids in history and that millions of illegals have been deported?

To me, what I'm seeing in the US is a truewly dreadful way to treat other human beings. And I wonder how a commited religious person Vance (a very committed Catholic) can stand by and not speak out about such behaviour. What does Vance think Mr Pope would have to say about the way he's treating other human beings?

Brings to mind "You're a Christiam, act like one". What deity could accept such treatment of others?

... Then we move on to what the US is enabling is Palestine ....

Has every wicked despot in history been a Christian ? I think not.

So long as your “god” is on your side, all kinds of wickedness can be excused.

You seem to be ignoring, what many of these illegal criminals have done whilst in the USA. If they weren't in th country, murder, rape, assault, thefts and the most heinous,

burning a woman alive on a train

Just so you don't forget, why the president is ridding the US of these people

Warning don't look unless you accept the disturbing nature

It's lucky there are no homegrown criminals. A bit like in Northern Ireland where they riot against immigrants committing sexual assault but not British or Irish citizens. Does this mean they find it acceptable providing immigrants aren't involved?
