Yeah, I mean why would anyone be concerned that a man who is disrupting world trade depending on his mood, can order a nuclear strike on a whim, has the attention span and intellect of a gnat, and is using the Presidency to enrich himself and his family contrary to all the normal safeguards, is probably a child rapist and could be easily blackmailed?

Should I go on? None of this should be seen as a defence of Trump who is an odious person in his own right but can we at least remember that winning at being an absolutely awful human being AND a terrible President is a fairly low bar.

I think the point is that Trump seems to be managing all of the above (only differing locations) plus blatant corruption and dismantling the Constitution.

I suspect few on here would be defending the failings of previous presidents. But it's too late to do anything about them.

Not that bitching about Trump on here is going to make any difference in the grand scheme of things, but his is actually POTUS *now*, and he doesn't appear to have any redeeming quality whatsoever (other than winding up the libs, obviously). Would you leave him with your 14-tear-old daughter (if you had one)?

But it appears that it's impossible to shame Trump supporters by pointing out even his most egregious failings, and the more egregious and blatant it is, the more that reasonably-minded people get enraged, and getting reasonably-minded people enraged is a goal, not an just an unfortunate consequence.

Yeah but as I said, if you're gonna call him out for corruption, immoral conduct, or just sheer buffoonery and being ill equipped for high office then there are plenty of his predecessors who've more than earnt their chops at all of the above. What he hasn't done (yet) and what most of them have done is to launch disastrous foreign wars and interventions that have scorched the Middle East and shaped it into the lawless, fundamentalist Hell hole that much of it has become due to American foreign policy. I get why people dislike Trump but I just don't get why all the others before him get a free pass here, and at the end of the day Americans had to choose between him and a living corpse who couldn't find his own backside with two hands and then a laughing jackass with even less intellect than Biden but without a diagnosis of advanced dementia as an excuse.
