I don't think there is any doubt about whether or not the Trump administration are behaving like fascists.
What surprises me is that you/I/we feel the need to spell it out clearly as others attempt to downplay or dismiss.
An interesting aspect I wonder about is, assuming it's a Democratic President that follows Trump, will they actually and fully repeal the laws and undo the newly established practice? My worry is that whilst they might find what's happening really worrying, once in power they might also find it "convenient" and just leave it in place.

I've not read it but regarding the "85 pages" maybe if you're an expensive lawyer then 3 pages doesn't earn you enough for your fast cars, fast living, etc. whereas 85 pages justifies $$$$$$$$$$$

But counter to that, if you're a smart lawyer you'll know Trump doesn't pay bills anyway so why spend days writing 85 pages for free?

As Rudy Giuliani found out 😁

Oh, come on. Just own it.

You know you'll have to eventually - so why not just do it now, so you can happily goose-step off into the sunset.

Or drive off in one of your fleet of SwastiKars.

If and it's a huge IF, Trump has American citizens disappear and create mass exterminator encampments then I'll reluctantly admit is not a very nice person
 :okay:

It's the denial (which I do understand to a degree). People want to believe that there is no way fascism could spread in the same way again. I think that's why people always use the Nazi defence i.e. things will never be as bad as the Holocaust so don't worry about it and don't make comparisons to it. As we have said though, fascism takes many forms, a regime does not have to murder people to be a fascist one.
I suppose there are excessively tribal people like that, but as someone on another thread mentioned, even Ted Cruz is criticising Trump, saying he acted like 'mafioso' on Jimmy Kimmel. Given how erratic and vindictive Trump can be, indeed has been to former allies, I can see shades of him in Joe Pesci's character -

Unfortunately fascist too easily elides into the word Nazi, and as mentioned, Trump lacks a certain genocidal tendency (though I'm aware there's more to genocide than mass slaughter).

Apparently. That's probably because you're not very perceptive and bit prejudiced.

"Apparently" was being a bit generous I suppose, but then I'm always willing to look for the best in everyone, even Mr Leftiebollox.
