I noticed the audience at trump speech weren't smirking like last time.

That's because they couldn't understand what he was rambling on about and were a bit embarrassed for him. Without a teleprompter he can't hold a line of thought and even with one he struggles.

That's only an extract from the first few paragraphs. Diplomats and representatives had to sit through the whole 60 minutes of complete, self-aggrandising, display of narcissism.
