Trouble we (UK leaders) just keep flattering the fool. Like helping an alcoholic by giving them bottles whiskey - they love you for it for as long as it takes them to drink it and then turn on you 10 mins later or if you ever stop bringing them bottles ...

Yeah, I said before the State visit that he would turn once it was over.
How long will it take?

We've recently had Musk stiring up the extreme right telling them our Government needs replacing and if they don't fight they'll be killed.

Now we have Trump scaring such people that London is adopting Sharia Law.

And the fools they are directing this stiff at believe this stuff.

"How long will it take?" more like "How long did it take?"

I was meaning more direct action. Tarrifs, so called trade deal collapse, Trump falling out with Starmer/UK, etc, etc.

The tariffs thing came up even before the visit. Remember that the night before the visit started it was announced that steel and aluminium tariffs would not be waived for UK products.

I mean the tariffs increasing from where they are today. And possibly more items/services having tariffs added.

It's hard to know where to start...

...so I shan't. I'll leave it to the men & women in white coats (and maybe hoods too).

PS, I'd like to get some radicalised quicksand for a garden feature - anyone know where you can get it?

For those of you who find yourselves involuntarily frothing at the mouth when Trump is mentioned, just remember it could be even worse...
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/09/22/trump-pm-might-be-possible/

Quote in case paywalled:
"A child born to a British mother, who was herself born in these Isles, normally has a right to British citizenship. Thus, Donald Trump could become a subject of His Majesty, granting him eligibility to stand for Parliament at the next election in 2029, shortly after his term as office as American president ends. If he were then elected, the King could send for him to ask him to form a government as prime minister.

This constitutional possibility, an admittedly remote one, has the great virtue of winding up po-faced Lefties who suffer from Trump derangement syndrome..."

....and for bonus points, another of this forum's favourite politicians wrote the article 🙂

Two questions:

Have we ever had a Nobel prize winning PM?

What would we do with the King when DJT is the top man?

He's flipped, over the edge. Came across as a complete fool. Like ghe nutter sitting aline in the corner of a pub wittering on about drivel.

Watching the excerpts I was expecting men in white coats to appear with straight jackets at the ready.

He thinks he's blown any credibility he may have had left with "world leaders" (except Israel).

It was like he’s reached the point where he actually believes the stuff he spouts to his MAGAlytes and thinks grown ups that actually know the truth will swallow it. I can’t believe he went down his ‘I’ve stopped 7 wars’ line again and that Russia invading Ukraine was just supposed to be a little skirmish lasting a few days like they were a couple of brothers have a bit of a punch up following a squabble. He criticised most of the US’s closest allies but wouldn’t do anything to condemn Putin or Israel and doesn’t seem to grasp the concept of climate change.

Strangely I do not find myself frothing at the mouth over Trump, just amazed that someone who is so clearly not quite all there manages to get away with what he says and does without mockery, even from those sensible (and there must be some in a country that size) people on the right in the US.

I might be outraged if Nanny's favourite ex-politician ever again got into a position where he could be taken seriously, but luckily even in these days of Farage and Yaxley-Lennon that boat has sailed, and he is recognised as a clown.

P.s. at his current rate of mental deterioration Trump will not be able to locate the UK on a world map in 2029, never mind get here.

Glad to to hear that you're not a TDS sufferer: some of them got very angry last time their problem was mentioned.

Although do you not think that there's a risk of Rees-Mogg running as a Reform candidate in the next GE and being given a ministerial post by Prime Minister Farage in 2029?
