Glad to to hear that you're not a TDS sufferer: some of them got very angry last time their problem was mentioned.

Although do you not think that there's a risk of Rees-Mogg running as a Reform candidate in the next GE and being given a ministerial post by Prime Minister Farage in 2029?

Yes and No, although given the wording of your question that could be No and Yes.

The question is, will I still retain what sanity I have left if I try to make sense of the transcript of that speech?
Your countries are going to hell—America acted boldly to swiftly shut down uncontrolled migration. Once we started detaining and deporting everyone who crossed the border illegally, they simply stopped coming. They’re not coming anymore. We’re getting credit for it—but this was a humanitarian act for all involved.
Now to be fair, illegal border crossings have almost been eliminated, down to 9000 per month. His policies have been incredibly successful in this regard. They are a bit unusual though. Not many leaders have considered running their own country into the ground so much that no-one wants to go there any more.

On the journey up, thousands of people a week were dying; women were being raped. Nobody has ever seen anything like it.
Well no, because it's made up. According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, 8,050 people have died crossing the U.S–Mexico border between 1998 and 2020. In 2024 the number was 100. In 2025 it's 108 - almost all from heat exhaustion.

I was proud this morning to see I have the highest poll numbers I’ve ever had—partly because of what we’ve done on the border and partly because of what we’ve done on the economy.

The latest on Trump’s approval rating

Updated September 23, 2025

Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen slightly this week after a string of bad polls. As of today, 43.9 percent of Americans approve of the job he’s doing and 53.3 percent disapprove. That net approval rating of -9.4 is Trump’s worst since July 24th. But still, it’s not a huge departure from where he’s been for the past six months. Trump’s net approval has fluctuated between -4 and -10 since early April. Here are the polls we’ve added to the average since Monday:

The 1 hour long... don't know what to call it, err bollox? In front of world leaders, experts etc was the most gobsmacking err, bollox I have heard since I listened to that bloke down the pub

He waffled about the wind not being right [with hand movements like a primary kid explaining God] and because of the shape of our country [more hand gestures], the wind is not right for America... climate change being a hoax... had he got the contract to build the UN building the lift and the teleprompter would be working properly (even though it was the escalator that stopped?!)... [add more shyte about the decor and the build quality]... China is selling renewables but not using them [Fact check: China is constructing renewables on a scale no one is matching]... my poll numbers are the greatest [the worst actually Donny]... Biden left a broken economy... I stopped 7 wars [no you did not you tw@t]...

Let's breathe for a moment. Fact check: The US produced more corn this year than ever but due to rising prices and sinking markets where purchasers have shifted to other suppliers, US agriculture will loose iro $49.5bn dollars in export revenue. I think the hayseeds will be coming over Capitol hill with their pitchforks. They (the Trump Reich) thought that China's shift to other countries was a temporary blip. It's looking pretty permanent as they seek stability in supply. Whodathunk a purchaser would rather deal with certainty Mr failed businessman?! See end.

Oh and back to that teleprompter: Trump said he could do a speech without it 'look at me' erm... Did someone sabotage it? Sorry, silly conspiracy theory.
Trump is a total embarrassment, a fool. Makes me wonder what the Lutnicks and other @rse lickers are telling him (or can they tell him anything?).

He has really really tried to sell snake oil, bless him:

Casino and hotel bankruptcies
  • Trump Taj Mahal (1991): The Atlantic City casino, built for over $1 billion, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy just a year after opening due to its enormous debt.
  • Trump Plaza Hotel (1992): The New York hotel filed for bankruptcy in 1992.
  • Trump Castle (1992): Another Atlantic City casino owned by Trump at the time, now known as the Trump Marina, declared bankruptcy in 1992.
  • Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts (2004): Trump's publicly traded company filed for bankruptcy after accumulating $1.8 billion in debt. Trump resigned as CEO, but remained chairman.
  • Trump Entertainment Resorts (2009): The successor company to Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts filed for bankruptcy amid the Great Recession. Trump resigned as chairman and gave up most of his stake.
Consumer products and services
  • Trump Shuttle (1989–1992): Trump purchased the Eastern Air Lines shuttle service and rebranded it with high-end, luxury features. The heavily leveraged airline quickly accumulated debt and was not profitable. It defaulted on its loans and was sold to USAir within a few years.
  • Trump University (2005–2010): This unaccredited for-profit real estate seminar program was plagued by lawsuits alleging fraud and deceptive practices. After years of legal battles, Trump agreed to a $25 million settlement for the students.
  • GoTrump.com (2006–2007): A luxury travel website that operated for just over a year.
  • Trump Mortgage (2006–2007): Launched as the housing market was nearing collapse, the company failed within 18 months.
  • Trump Vodka (2006–2011): Despite a high-profile launch, the beverage brand failed to gain traction and was discontinued.
  • Trump Steaks (2007): This premium meat brand was sold exclusively through The Sharper Image and QVC. It was discontinued after only two months due to poor sales.
  • The Trump Network (2009–2012): A multilevel marketing company that sold vitamins and other wellness products. It was shut down quietly a few years after its launch.
  • Trump Magazine (1997–2009): Originally a free publication for Trump's properties, the luxury lifestyle magazine ceased operations during the Great Recession.
  • Trump: The Game (1989, 2004): A Monopoly-style board game that was released twice, with both versions failing commercially.
  • Trump Fragrances (2004–2012): Lines of cologne and perfume were eventually discontinued due to competition and political backlash.
  • Trump Ice (early 2000s–2010): A bottled water brand that was phased out, though it has made sporadic reappearances since.
  • Trump Home (2007): A line of luxury furniture that was phased out due to declining sales.
  • Truth Social (Ongoing): Created in 2022, this social media platform has faced continued struggles with profitability and low ad revenue.

Yet with all those failures, so many, he has amassed billions in wealth, achieved being President twice.

Love how losers always seem to cling to the failures of successful entrepreneurs.

Pregnant women need to put up with the pain and thank the lord for the gift of pregnancy. 🤔

Or is it,….Pregnant women need to put up with the pregnancy and thank the lord for the gift of pain. Whatever..

Women need to suffer... and be submissive... and not have the vote,,, and not aspire to anything more than doting housewife... and have no control over their bodies (abortion).
It's all part of the Christian Nationalist narrative.
Meanwhile, certain ahem... pastors are preaching god in the day and cavorting with other males at night time. Fine, don't mind that but don't tell your congregation that homosexuality is wrong and then... Practice what you preach?
It's all a bit of a funny mix of hypocricy, religion, indoctrination, fear. Whacko's, the lot of them.

I see it as part of the process. If it were so simple to be successful, then everyone would create something spectacular the first try.

Envy of losers, who constantly whine at what others have achieved.

To be fair, they don't just do that with Trump - we've seen the same thing with Musk and others such as James Dyson.

Hint: Wealthy people can be ar*eholes.

I think it's safe to say he came across as totally unhinged. And the world will react accordingly.

The cost to the US over time will be immense.

Living in cloud cuckoo land.

USA is the largest consumer of world goods. Just about every country relies on a big portion of their GDP to make a living from the USA.
