Haha. I think the US has turned into a dystopian surreal black comedy.

It is good to see stuff like this, although watching other videos it is only a matter of time before one of these ICE thugs kill someone. This all has the air of George Floyd about it, they are going to choke someone to death at some point.

I'm sorry to say that I think deaths are baked into the screenplay now, and will be the only way that senior Democrats wake up to the siren calls rather than calling for 'votes across the aisle'. (These deaths being in addition to the ones caused by Kennedy's antivax crusade - but they will take longer to feed through into public consciousness, not least as they will happen away from the public gaze, and their reporting being dependent on release of accurate statistics, which is far from a given.)

I will go further. I think Trump actually hopes that there will be uprisings and serious trouble.
This will validate his actions (even though they are the cause) and escalate things further. I hope he is frustrated.

Oh yes, that's what he and Miller are trying to provoke, without doubt, in order to justify an 'emergency' which 'necessitates' the cancelling of the midterms. Once he's lost a lapdog Congress, his continuing trashing of the constitution will be much trickier to maintain.

This is rather fun. Illinois are suing to prevent Trump/Miller taking control of ('federalising') state troops to go into Chicago under the pretext of an 'emergency'. They are using Trump's own Truth Social posts to show that this has been a long-hatched plan and no sudden emergency.

Albanian PM trolls Trump over geography blunders with European leaders

Albanian PM Edi Rama poked fun at Donald Trump and his geography blunders as he met with European leaders.

Rama was filmed joking with French President Emmanuel Macron and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev at the European Political Community meeting in Copenhagen on Thursday.

The Albanian PM sarcastically told Emmanuel Macron he should apologise for not congratulating him and Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev on “making peace”.

He told Macron: “You should make an apology … to us because you didn’t congratulate us on the peace deal that President Trump made between Albania and Azerbaijan.”

That's ^ a staggering $26,165 per annum (£19458 in real money on a £61k combined income).
The health care cuts are not going to affect just the lower incomes.
Poor MAGA's will be royally screwed.

And yet people in this country seriously suggest that a US style insurance based system is the way forward.
I'm kinda glad that we have a real life actual testing zone across the pond for what Reform will bring to this country.

An interesting piece:

His entire political project was to posture as the champion of the working person while governing as a loyal servant of the billionaire class. For a time, the performance was so loud, so distracting that the contradiction could be ignored. But reality has a way of asserting itself. The economic pain of
the majority of Americans did not lessen. It deepened. The promises of a manufacturing renaissance never materialized. The fundamental conditions of life for working families continued
to deteriorate. And this is precisely why the system is now turning on him. He is no longer a useful tool. His brand of chaos, once effective for distraction, has now become a threat to the long-term
stability that the true masters of the system, the multinational corporations and global finance desperately require.

Do they really? Most people that I know who are critical of the NHS don't want a US style system but they are broadly in favour of a European or Australian one.
