Really. "Deep breath sir, and blow, and blow and blow, and blow. Well done sir!". Does that really require more skill?
We are talking about the country where they prefer to learn children to deal with ''active (school)shooter situations'' instead of just making law that don't forbid guns entirely but just restrict them so that it's harder for people in an certain state of mind to get them, thus lowering the chance of said shootings. like the rest of the world decided much earlier on.
So you might have an to high impression of the instructions they are able to follow. I mean if you want to tell them to shoot, just say ''black man'' but telling someone to blow something..

It really didn't long for the Mamdani bullsh!t to start... The mega rich in America really do hate the poor. It's no wonder people think that Musk getting a potential trillion dollar's worth of shares is absolutely fine.
Yeah but it's also divide an conquer, Epstein isn't an exception there are more billionaire's like him. (in terms of buying influence with both the republicans and the democrats, don't want to think about potentially being more child rapist like him)
But yes they hate the poor because it suits them, and then they have trump as an useful idiot who attracts votes from the same poor so he can screw them over even more and then afterwards claim he is ''draining the swamp'' or something.

Anyone surprised? Anyone?
One of the most predictable of TACOs. Gotta support his "friends".

"US President Donald Trump says he will consider allowing Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban to buy Russian oil, in an exemption from sanctions aimed at helping to end the Ukraine war.
Speaking on Friday during Orban's visit to the White House, Trump said an allowance might be made because "it's very difficult for him [Orban] to get the oil and gas from other areas".
The comments come after the US effectively blacklisted two of Russia's largest oil companies last month, threatening sanctions on those that buy from them."

I'm not surprised that the block on the Snap programme has been upheld, but it's hard to believe people can be so vindictive.

WHen you're using your own population as a political match of blame game football, things really are broken.

It's not going to do the Republicans any favours being so nakedly cruel. Seems it was one of the liberal judges who made the order, but I've seen this explanation this morning of why she might have gone that way late on a Friday.. Using hunger of the US population as a weapon in a political stand off is quite something. Though I guess a lot of them are poor and black, so we probably shouldn't be surprised about the deliberate cruelty.

I believe the situation is not quite as it appears from the headline, particularly as the SC Justice who heard the application was Katanji Browne Jackson.
As I understand the position, the First Circuit Appeal denied the stay application, but stated they wanted 48 hours to consider the matter. The administration then appealed to the SC, hence Brown Jackson's involvement. She issued an administrative stay, which effectively still gives the First Circuit the 48 hours it was requesting,
She will of course be aware that if the appeal gets heard by the full panel, the 6 MAGA Justices will have the same reaction as the rapist did the other day in the White House.

If the full SC hears it, it'll be interesting to hear the 6 Republican justices' reasoning for allowing Trump to bypass the Constitution (again) if they allow him to encroach on Congress's mandate of the 'power of the purse'.

Though I guess a lot of them are poor and black...

They are not though - it hits MAGA states deeply. This is called shooting oneself in the foot and not many people buy grindr Mike and Dementia Don's 'it's the Democrats that are deliberately keeping the house shut'.
Trump is de-basing his base. He does not care. he stands there looking miffed as the attention is not on him whilst someone collapses near him. He throws a big 20's style party at Casa Mar a filo to billionaires in a backdrop as 40m Americans loose Snap benefits whilst simultaneously bailing out Argentina for $40bn who's farmers are selling beef to the US and soya to China where US farmers are going bankrupt by the dozen on a daily basis and have a soya surplus that they cannot shift.

This is f*cking lunacy politics. All because of the Epstein files and Project 2025 going very quickly wrong. The blue sweep in Virginia hasn't been replicated since the 1950's such is the swing away from Trumpism.

Meanwhile, the federal allocation of $27bn (already agreed) is being withheld from blue states and only £1bn has been withheld from Red states. Bit this is not insignificant - he's kicking the red states in the bollox through medicare cuts and suspension of snap benefits anyway.
Currently the most unpopular president in history and the consumer confidence index is lower than in the early 70's.
Unemployment - up
Cost of living - up
Inflation - up
Mortgage applications - very low
All independent economic markers are very pessimistic
...but here's the grift - Stock market doing well

The stock market is about to have it's latest tech bubble burst. A lot of the companies hastily re badged as AI are over valued, I am reading.

"Poor and/or black", then. That covers a lot of the MAGA states, though I'm well aware the poor white MAGA folk will keep voting for Trump as he kicks the blacks, and that fits their agenda. That's the only coherence about the MAGA manifesto, a bit like the Reform barely-hidden racism: everything else is just noise.

Trump claims this years thanksgiving is going to be the cheapest ever...
MTG publicly contradicts him.
The reality is that it won't be as affordability in general is being talked about amongst all the main stream media.

So rich people will make off with money that doesn't really exist, the market will crash and everyone with savings, mortgages and pensions will be screwed. Again.

As I've opined before, the AI thing is (at least) a partial con, sold on the success of LLMs mimicking human language, making people think that human-like intelligence lies behind the 'reasoning' of their output.

That the US's economic buoyancy has so quickly become reliant on the AI industry, which has masked the plight of the rest of the US economy under Trump's isolationism, doesn't bode well for the world economy, though perhaps we should be grateful for the size of the Chinese economy now, which might cushion the blow, should the US's exposure cause a seismic economic shock.
