Probably, but he smells blood. And by blood, I mean money.

He smells neither. His absolute default behaviour whenever anyone says anything nasty is to threaten to sue for vast sums of money. In the old days it used to work occasionally. These days he can't get good enough legal advice to tell him it's a waste of time.

The only thing he smells is his used depends.

We will find out at 22:01 on Friday.
About the lawsuit. His smelliest is old news.

Indeed. Apparently he is planning on sueing in Florida. The key obstacle to that is proving that the transmission was legally available in the USA - it wasn't.
It's all bluster by Trump.

Other US networks that settled had other motives that don't apply to the BBC eg they didn't want disclosure, had a US broadcast market to consider, etc. My view is BBC should apologise (which they have already done publicly) and that's all, no money involved.

It's all about relentlessly doing this kind of stuff to deter any criticism at all, so he can get away with (literal) murder and escape the consequences if no-one dares to report it and hold him to account. It's how he's lived his entire life, and he's not going to stop now.

He will simply go further and further if nobody stands up to him.
Not an ideal example but he cowers from Putin. He is nothing more than a bluff & bluster bully with enough money for lawyers.

But the orange (choose your adjective), knows the MAGAcolytes are going to drink the kool-aid.
It would not surprise me at all for a news crew at the next election to ask a MAGA supporter about Obama, (as him being black as well as Democrat seems to have particularly stuck in their throats), and this will be regurgitated.

It looks like at least one gullible moron has gone down that path from the responses to content I can't see.

In order to sue the BBC he will have to attend a British court as a star witness and be cross examined under oath.
He will have to explain why he said the election was stolen. And also show how the panorama show, which wasn’t shown in USA, caused him political harm, despite the fact he won the election.
The BBC can effectively ignore him.

Reports I've seen are that he is intending to sue in Florida not through UK courts.

A lawsuit would induce the BBC to defend itself by gathering together some of the thousands of hours of TV and online footage of commentators criticising him and playing sound bites of what he did that day, so as to argue that there has been no measurable damage to something less critical 4 years later.

He may not want that to happen.

It is just willy waving, honestly.
