To no-one's surprise, the released Epstein files have been redacted so the only odd name to appear is Democrat. Mostly it's like this, and is just a complete defiance of the law that passed saying they should be released with minimal redaction. It's just Trump & Bondi saying "Fuck you to the law and Congress, what are you going to do about it?"

Exactly as expected. They should have released everything immediately months ago as now it just looks like they’ve taken the time to redact/erase/delete anything inconvenient.

It would only take a few pages of unredacted stuff involving Trump to leak into the public realm to shift the dial, but at this point I think it quite possible that Bondi will simply delete all the unredacted files, the lawlessness & desperation having gone so far down the line.

For all the outrage on the part of Democrats, I suspect they still don't have a plan for how to deal with an administration that will simply ignore the law. No Plan B, other than strongly-worded letters, outraged tweets, and speeches and pressers in Congress. It's not like they haven't had enough examples of Trump and his goons simply ignoring all laws and conventions, but the cycle of these events is utterly predicable now, going right back to Mueller.
Maybe the US system simply doesn't have scope for a Plan B when the admin will blatantly ignore the Constitution and any legal judgements, though I think I'd have been exploring 'playing dirty' with unauthorised leaks (or similar) for starters, and much more aggressive legal actions (not just threats).
I think there's still a pervasive mythologising of 'across the aisle' co-operation that some Democrats still think is tenable, despite the fact that Republicans have used that to shaft them and the US since the days of Gingrich.

You knew the fix was in when he said he'd sign the law mandating their release.
And you knew that Bondi & Trump knew that the Democrats didn't have an effective plan if the law was just ignored.
