Listened to the whole thing live. My first long-term exposure (>2mins) to audio of the orange man-baby. He’s such a shite public speaker - total dullard. Americans are usually very engaging, but he is THE WORST. He’s BEST at being the WORST EVER.

I was hoping that clot might release and start its journey through the arteries to liven things up a bit, but no such luck.

I like wishful thinking. Perhaps a few dozen fondue's should help. Come on Switzerland, you can do it.

That's a pretty comprehensive fact-check. So I don't understand why BBC reporting otherwise is so cowed. The formula seems to be

1) Don't mention he's as mad as a box of frogs or actually quote his actual garbled English, with plenty of use of the word "appeared to" when he says something totally outrageous or mad.

2) State what he's claimed, but in normal English

3) Maybe add "That's not completely true" somewhere near the end.

Well, the ball has not stopped rolling yet, but, it does rather look like his tactics (unpleasant and crazy as the were) have worked, and, he will get what he wanted (one could argue that he already had it, but, he has made it look like he was "tough").

It is like watching a John Wayne or Clint Eastwood movie.
