The right to bear arms is *only* for school shootings

On that depressing note:

As of late January 2026, the Gun Violence Archive and other trackers have already recorded multiple mass shooting incidents across the United States. Reports from early January 2026 indicate that at least 8 mass shootings occurred within the first week of the year, signaling a rapid start to potential incidents in 2026.
  • Early 2026 Trends: Reports indicated 8 mass shootings occurred by January 7, 2026.
  • Context: While 2025 saw a decrease in mass killings (a 24% drop from 2024), experts, such as James Alan Fox from Northeastern University, cautioned that 2026 might not continue that downward trend.
  • School Shootings: Data suggests that school-related shootings decreased in 2025, to 233 incidents, with 0 recorded incidents of school shootings resulting in injuries or deaths as of January 1, 2026.
What country in the world can you legally carry a gun and walk past a school?

If you want to go armed to a situation against armed federal agents, expect any confrontation to be on the highest level of self preservation for individuals concerned.

Despite being pepper sprayed before hand, this chap continued to be aggressive towards the agents.

The agents are trained to make self defence actions whatever level is needed to protect themselves or any other person in danger

Ken White of Popehat has been mentioned here before. He is a former federal prosecutor and famous free speech (not freeze peach) advocate. In this piece he looks at the moral cases for and against political violence given the circumstances in the US. The comments are worth a read too.

When the DHS is granting immunity to a group of individuals who are poorly trained and given the authority to terrorise people (and kill them) at will, it negates a need to delve into arguments about the morality of political violence. Surely? It's a closed case.
