The UK doesn't have a hinterland of client states willing under duress to take deportees, neither does it have a land border which can be easily fenced and guarded.

It could easily have a more efficient system of processing claims (historically a majority of claims succeed) and more help with integrating into society.

You guys keep thinking rationally. All reform types want to do is go round up brown people and be seen to be as cruel as possible to them. That's all ICE does.

Curious about the bit I've boldened. Surely a sea border is easier to guard than a land border?

Let's hope that this one is alarmist, unlike all the other warnings that have been called alarmist before turning out to be bang on.

Apparently not. Unless of course you're happy to kill all who attempt to land.

That still doesn't explain how a land border would be easier to maintain. You still have to be happy to kill all those who attempt to climb.
I'd fancy my chances at a fence over the English Channel.

Strange as all those people coming over in boats have already made it past several land borders.
And that's just the ones who make it this far.

Have you crossed a land border, between, say, Italy and France lately?
