Realistically, there is so much more pushback of Trumpanomics coupled with his extraordinary lack of popularity, even in his base, perhaps we should be optimistic.
If I mention the mid terms, I take it as a given that your sentiment is still possible.
My take on it is this: Trump is not in control of the DHS and the DoJ and the FBI as much as he would like. The MAGA base are turning on him because of 3 promises that Trump ran his campaign on 'America first' Including no more foreign wars, that Trump would release the Epstein files and that he would 'drain the swamp'. The impending conflict on Iran is contrary to 'America first' and the continued attempt to distract and muddy the Epstein problem is pushing the MAGA's towards the idea that he is part of the swamp.
My concern is the power of his billionaire backers, particularly the one's implicated.
