I know it's asymmetric, in that the Right will publish anything they want, no matter how fake, and the Left is apologising for the slightest manipulation, but in these cases, I think it's important not to stoop to their type of fraud. The reason for not going is nonsense.
But I do think it’s fairly pointless travelling all the way to Pakistan if there is no guarantee that Iran will even turn up. And that is what it looks like.

From the point of view of the Iranians, given that Trump started bombing while negotiations were ongoing twice before, there's not a lot of incentive to play ball.
