It only matters if those tuning out are in the US.

UK people tuning out (or in) makes not an iota of difference, except, possibly, to their sanity.

Sorry, long post.

It does however.
For example, the proliferation of data centres is partly on the back of minimal legislation from building regs to energy and water supply. It's also because the tech billionaires have had the Trump gift of a tax break.
So, some of the data centres being built in the UK due to almost limitless venture capital, are American owned and the profits go out with the UK. Moreover, these data centres will gather information which has the potential to influence and manipulate policy/consumer habits - externally. They are deeply concerning and pose a long term threat to our democracy.

Imagine an American administration that stipulated energy production and pollution control/consumption of fresh water. It would have put the brakes on. It would have given time to have a deep think about the ramifications and use of these data centres rather than being lead by the nose down a path where the outcome is unknown.

Further, the alt right runs on media produced propaganda and you can clearly see how that is influencing how the far right is spreading their message - the pro Putin Marie Le Pen is leading in the polls, Fagash is benefitting from US donations/methodology. Trump has lifted the lid off the can of worms and it's difficult to put them back in the tin.
Technocrats were drivers of Brexit: remember Epstein to Bannon after the referendum result "Let the chaos begin".

The tentacles of an empowered elite are far reaching and Donald's death or demise won't stop the super rich from pursuing corporate hegemony and control. Trump has been the catalyst, the enabler. A Democratic landslide in November will possibly mean a reset for the tech billionaires but they may come back stronger and more determined. This all affects us laterally. It affects us more due to the vulnerability of not being in the EU. The EU as a Democratic body contains within agencies of accountability, social, environmental and ethical responsibility. These agencies are an impediment to corporate creep now enabled by data gathering and AI, launched into seemingly uncontrollable hyper space coupled with scant legislation by Trump. They are going to be making billions and with the billions comes power: potentially insidious and malignant power.

I know the damage a Trump administration has done and what further damage it could do to many countries, including us, and didn't say it doesn't affect us.

That doesn't contradict my response in the context it was made, replying to bt.

Even Farage has given up on Trump.
And if he comes out for Argentina in the Falkland issue it will be all over.

What got me this week was a report listing Donnie’s 75 most corrupt actions in this term. It was highlighted that it was far from a conclusive list.
Nixon must be wondering…

Let's not underestimate the significance of the mid-terms.

New Mexico lawmakers are suing the DOJ for not releasing specific files on Zorro ranch.
There have been allegations of harvesting body parts. Which leaves the question: Did those 2 females reported as buried in the grounds somewhere suffer from some sort of operative based death?

Meanwhile Grindr Mike has cancelled 2 weeks of Senate sessions to try and block the Epstein Disclosure act 2. Basically trying to run out session time so that it does not get voted on before the mid terms. This poses a Catch 22 problem for those running in the mid terms on the GOP side where there is building pressure to release the files from both sides of the electoral divide. If they snub the vote, then they appear to be hiding something. If they do vote, it's highly likely that the 218 votes will be met forcing the disclosure to various AG's of the Epstein files.
Bear in mind, Democrat Adelita Grijalva has been sworn in.

The lid on this sordid affair, we hope, will be lifted off sooner rather than later. A Democratic majority after the mid terms may just be the catalyst.

It's quite an extraordinary assault on voting rights in the US right now.

As a follow on...

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/20...votes-slash-polling-sites-midterms-rcna595338

Key Texas county votes to cut polling sites ahead of the midterms

Officials in Tarrant County, the third most populous in Texas, approved a plan to reduce the number of polling locations by 92 compared with the 2022 elections.

And we can probably guess the types of areas where they'll be axed.

Obviously Trump's father never gave Trump those Action Men Trump really wanted instead of doing his military service, so Trump's making up now by doing fantasy dressing up of a fantasy 'space force'.
