Good thread and sentiment. I have a postal vote, so already done and dusted.

postal vote sent back last week. I know it's local and we shouldn't be considering Iran etc. So I tend to go on the local parties websites and have a look. Reform's website didn't even work, so that's a no from me. The local Tory made a statement about banning mopeds and cars from the area late at night (there is a problem with boy racers)...but failed to mention how they'd do it, and how they'd do it without discriminating against those who might work late and/or drive sensibly. It sounded very much like "I live in a rich area and I don't want those sort around here"...so that was a no from me. Labour have previously been in, and they've done naff all, so that's a no. The only website that looked like it hadn't been written by a 4 year old, was lib-dems. They spoke about wanting to improve cycling infrastructure and public transport. So I went with them

I suspect there will be lots of reform local councillors elected tomorrow, who quickly realise that being a local politician is a tough gig, and don’t follow through with any real commitment to the job.

That happened here in Worcestershire, but I bet it will not make any difference to their voters.

To be honest, if Reform's current recruitment process is anything to go by, a decent chunk of them will be suspended or expelled before they even get to that point (I am only half joking!).

On today's ride, mind wandering around "the least bad option" and I started to think that maybe from a long term strategic perspective Reform doing well in the local Council elections (winning Council seats) will give people long enough to appreciate what a disaster they are so next much more important vote, the General Election they'll have learnt their lesson and vote for others.

Of course I'd never be able to vote for them but maybe were they to do well there is an aspect to mitigate the bad news?

Be interesting to see how Reform do in North Tyneside. I think they were third last time.

Greens have been building each time, but perhaps the national coverage of the party might put a dent in that. Got my vote anyway.

The pink regional list ballot paper was like a roll of wallpaper! Single issue parties, independents and shadowy organisations that only appear every 4 years, like the Independent Greens, whose only purpose appears to be to confuse voters. Last time if all the people who voted for them had voted for the real greens, The Scottish Green Party, the real greens would have won another list seat.
