Sunak's made himself look a total chump. Why should he dictate what the PM of another sovereign nation can discuss. The fact he apparently regards the current position with the Marbles as settled law and any attempt to discuss them as 'relitigating' speaks volumes about his arrogance.

So important, but Sunak had to throw his toys out of the pram and cancel their meeting, because they asked for their marbles back.

How about starting with the easy wins and see where we go after that?

I think some low hanging fruit is already being sent back. Such as a few Nigerian bronze’s and this Canadian totem pole.
But I don’t think the marbles are easy wins, they are far too political at the moment.
Although I suspect some deal will be done eventually.

Perhaps he sees some equivalence with redistribution of wealth and it worries him.

Before I go off on one it might be best to check in what sense you consider Benin bronzes "low-hanging fruit"?

Long read, but an interesting blog here, giving both sides of the argument for displaying human remains. For me though, they are definitely 'low hanging fruit' and morally should be repatriated. I can't see why you can't convincingly replicate a mummified Egyptian body or 300 year old African skull in modern materials. There's no need to have the real thing.

I’m no fan of either character but it’s definitely a FU message and I like that.

I doubt either is listening very hard to the other.

It also looks a bit more believable if you straighten it according to the background and the chap on the phone.
