No, not me. There was a flounce earlier today on the main site, thread since deleted.

If you were to flounce, from this forum or the other, what would be your reasons?

Oh I missed it!
What happened?
I just had a post edited in the cycle to work scheme thread, for daring to mention pension salary sacrifice.

I missed that. I do read over there but don't post much. What did he flounce for? He always seemed fairly easy going. Lots of people announce their departure (often several times ...) but return. Perhaps he'll come back after a rest.

Probably beyond the memory of some members but nothing comes close to the major flounce of several members of the old CC when it was not verboten to discuss politics six or seven years ago. It was well orchestrated, beautifully choreographed and some of them would have got four 10s on Strictly come Dancing.

I'd flounce if:

Anyone suggested cardigans are fashionable,
If anyone denied the obvious truth that steel bikes are best,
Anyone said that people who cycle alone are losers,
Or
If anyone suggested I might be over sensitive.

(Or maybe I wouldn't)

I did a half-hearted sort of solo flounce some years ago when I was a bit fed up of the forum in general but I didn't announce it and nobody noticed so I came back out of spite.

It's been deleted? Damn, I'd made a joke on that thread as well. Now I'll never know if it landed.

Nothing will ever top the Rick Chasey flounce when he left the old BR forum. He decided to go out all guns blazing and took the opportunity to verbally assault half the forum!

I think it started with something I said...

"Nate Silver".

Who, amusingly, is getting continually ratioed on X these days for thinking he's a guru in every topic he comments on.

But true, RC did not go quietly into that dark night.

I forgot it was Nate Silver that started it, and also Rick's general obsession with the guy.

He certainly did not, Dylan Thomas would have been proud of him!
