I'm not sure the Met Police allow comedy writers the indulgence of choreographing their own arrest. More like activist influence. Result was the Streisand effect though and more highlighting of the ridiculousness of some police forces in dealing with such matters.

That'll teach me to post something not totally serious in response to CXRandy in an extremely serious thread.

They would have his address. The olicing practice when it happened a lot of comment about the OTT of 5 officers but then I saw one reputable reportalleged offences didn't really merit 5 cops meeting the plane.
Whilst I have no experience of Policing practices, when it happened a lot of comment about 5 officers being OTT but then I heard a reputable report that the reasons for 5 officers for a on-aircraft arrest is not so much to make the arrest but in case there are problems with the other passengers (a lot of people not wanting to be delayed, not knowing what is going on, etc.). Hence not a reaction to the specific person but rather standard practice for such an arrest.

Doesn't fit the narrative, sorry.

In what way?

They were not "regular" officers but aviation group (or whatever) thus they are all armed and need to ensure safety of others/passengers. As I say, I heard the reason from a reputable report so I'm afraid reliable source giving reasons outweighs a "Doesn't fit the narrative, sorry." without any reasons, without explanation from an unknown source. Sorry.

I think @Rusty Nails may have had his tongue firmly 8n his cheek.

I think he's using sarcasm to agree with you. Without knowing the specific protocols for the police at Heathrow have to work to, and whilst I will take at face value the argument that these police are routinely armed, does it really need five of them? And as Aurora says, couldn't he simply be contacted at his home address or wherever he is staying whilst in the UK and asked to report to a police station for questioning?

I was posting in response to the comment before yours but you got yours in whilst I was typing, which is why I ended up repeating the same point you made.

I expect it was, as was them being armed.
I don't think the alleged offence merited being arrested at the airport though.

He was due in court, I understand he was going to do interviews before the case. Being arrested, interview and hospitalised interrupted that

I agree with your point.

As Shortfall saw, my comment was sarcasm about the nasty armed police line.

You've been lazily getting your answers from CoPilot since May.

I'm sure you know who Sophie Molly is. You managed to comment at length when he made an appearance in the Gender thread.

You can reopen that thread if you like. I'm sure CoPilot has some new thoughts on the Supreme Court ruling you can enlighten us with.

I have no idea who Sophie Molly is, or where she posted this. Your imagination is quite vivid.

Maybe someone who loves Linehan* so much would like to start a thread about him?

I would, but I fear I've been cast as a trans activist** in the gender thread so it probably wouldn't go down well***.
