Mobster tactics.
He's determined to destroy the remaining shreds of US credibility, and get it's allies to realign elsewehere.

It's extremely frustrating that the BBC are repeating the lie that he is "imposing a 10% tariff on the UK [and others]", when of course, that's not how tariffs work at all: he is putting the tariff on US businesses and consumers.

He's thinking (I know) that the 10% increase in cost will drive down demand for imported goods and increase the demand for local goods.
Trouble is that just give US producers a 10% ceiling to raise prices, and profits.

And the 'free market' doing what it does best won't lower prices by 10% if/when the tariffs are removed. Trump's screwing all of America, not just its teenage girls.

Time to follow Canada’s lead and get a big trade deal sorted with China. The new catchphrase: Dump Trump.
It was always going to happen over something. If not Greenland now it would have been wind turbines in Scotland or "freedom of speech" or something (anything to keep the world talking about Trųmp).. Time for big trade deals elsewhere was some time ago but Starmer just wasted it sycophantising Trūmp.

Agreed. Nothing would ever be enough to fill the gaping hole within Trümp
