It's just a mobster demand for a regime that'll give all the oil to Trump, with the Kurds doing all the work to enable it.

I'm increasingly seeing this as a totally unholy alliance between Trumplandia and Israel to mould the world order to benefit their respective aims politically and financially. I'll admit that it leaves my head in a funny place with regards my sympathies towards Iran and both its people and government, as I want the naked assault on its independence to fail, but at the same time know that its regime is reprehensible, and I'm not sure what's the 'least worst'.

All except the US has shafted the Kurds too many times in the past so they are now very wary of false promises.

A powerful item from Philadelphia on the Minab slaughter. I can't choose a section to quote, as it's too well written as a whole piece.

This is the crux of it, and the part that mostly gets overlooked. I don't see it as the being within the purview of any nation to invade or attack any other nation. Primarily as it is used as a cover to invade countries for nefarious means (usually financially motivated).

Also, if you make the argument it is for 'moral' purposes then where do you draw the line? Why Iran and not North Korea or Eritrea?

I am not asking you personally by the way BT, just making the general observation that invading or attacking any country for any reason is hard to justify.

If you'll forgive the unrequested style guide, "If one makes the argument..." etc. (as opposed to "If you...") is an elegant way out of suggesting that you're addressing an individual. I've occasionally realised that an observation I've made sounds personal, when I've had no intention of being personal!

Make sure you hand your English homework in on time, MG, or you might get a detention! 😜🤣

It's a flip of a coin as to whether it is worse for one to sound like a bit of a posh twat.

Or Jacob Rees-Mogg. You might accidentally sound like that.

Haha, I've spent too long in Devon and farming for that. I can't even say 'cows' normally... I didn't realise until the son of a friend at the time said to his dad, after I'd said something about cows, "Daddy, what are 'ceouws'?"

Did you pick up a Scottish accent while you were there?

No. Nor a Canadian accent when I was there. Just the odd turn of phrase, and I spoke a bit slower in some circumstances I think, to enable me to actually communicate.
